Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank Organises Financial Literacy Camp
As a part of the DFS, GOI led three months campaign for saturation of Financial Inclusion schemes at Gram Panchayat (GP) level, Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank organized a Financial Literacy Camp at Gram Panchayat Jaswan, Block Gajansoo, Tehsil Marh through its Branch Office Gajansoo and Branch Office Kalyanpur.
Regional Director, RBI Jammu Sh. Chandrashekhar Azad was the chief guest of the event which was also attended by Smt. Vibha Gupta, DGM RBI, Sh. Sanjay Gupta, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank, officials of Grameen Bank and officials of other banks operating in the region.
Sh. Chandrashekhar Azad, Regional Director, RBI Jammu in his address impressed upon importance of social security schemes and other financial inclusion schemes for rural population. He stressed the need for timely completion of Re-KYC to ensure uninterrupted banking services and also cautioned the public to remain vigilant against digital frauds. He commended the Bank’s initiatives in the Financial Inclusion segment and exhorted it, as the sole Regional Rural Bank in the UTs with a wide branch network, to further intensify its outreach and extend its coverage to the unreached.
Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Chairman, while addressing the participants, highlighted the importance of Financial Inclusion Schemes and emphasized the role of Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank as a major player in offering these schemes to rural populace of UT of Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh. He further highlighted bank’s commitment to serve its customers with highest standard of services, achieving saturation under the Financial Inclusion Schemes.
During the camp, the participants were sensitized about various Financial Inclusion Schemes , Digital Frauds and Re-KYC through an engaging nukkad natak. The benefits of these schemes and bank’s procedures were also apprised to participants in the Camp in detail, resulting in impressive mobilisation of 153 applications under PMJDY, 608 enrolments under PMSBY, 410 enrolments under PMJJBY, 151 enrolments under APY and 106 accounts under Re-KYC. On this occasion, claims under PMJJBY and PMSBY were also handed over to beneficiaries, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to providing timely support to its customers. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 200 people making it a significant step towards financial inclusion initiative.
Bank had also setup dedicated counters for Social Security Schemes, Re-KYC, grievance redressal to aware the customers. A vote of thanks was presented by Sh. Amit Laira,Special Secy to Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank.
